Job Description

The client is seeking four passionate and dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors in 2026. Board service is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the organization’s mission of empowering neurodiverse individuals through education, employment, and the arts. Board members serve as a collaborative group of volunteers working alongside the Executive Director and staff to provide strategic direction, organizational oversight, and community leadership. Board members help strengthen the client by serving on committees, supporting fundraising efforts, building community partnerships, and acting as ambassadors for the mission. The client welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who are committed to creating a more inclusive community, including individuals with prior board experience, first-time board applicants, or those with lived experience that aligns with the mission. A diversity of skills, experiences, and perspectives is valued, and experience in areas such as finance, human resources, fundraising, marketing, education, healthcare, legal, nonprofit leadership, or community engagement may be beneficial, though it is not required. The client especially encourages applicants who identify as BIPOC, disabled, LGBTQIA+, and/or neurodivergent. Residents, business owners, and community leaders from the Garfield neighborhood area are also encouraged to apply. Board members typically commit about three hours per month, including board and committee meetings, with additional volunteer opportunities that may arise around fundraising events and organizational initiatives communicated in advance.
